The Brief for Vine:
Upgrade and enhance the sound quality and capabilities of their worship services and events, moving beyond the church’s outdated analogue sound system and investing in a state-of-the-art digital audio setup to transform the auditory experience for congregants and visitors alike.
The Challenge
The client was initially fairly set on a flown line-array system; however, after our initial site visit, we deemed that a correctly designed point-source system was the right way to tackle this project. Another consideration was loading on structural points in the roof, making a careful design necessary.
The Solution Delivered
The system consists of four Outline Vegas 10 loudspeakers, precisely positioned and angled to deliver highly consistent coverage across the full width of the venue at all frequencies. A single Vegas 6.5 provides centre-fill coverage for the front half of the audience, while two SUB 118 sub-bass loudspeakers deliver full-range response with ample headroom for a wide variety of applications.
Amplification and system processing are handled by two Powersoft units, a Quattrocanali 4804 DSP and a Quattrocanali 2404 DSP, providing the necessary power, processing, and channel-level control, with efficient power sharing across the system.
In addition, an Allen & Heath mixing system and lighting upgrade were supplied. An Angekis Sabre Plus full-HD PTZ camera was installed to enhance live-stream video quality, and more recently, MIPRO MI-58 digital IEM systems have been added to improve monitoring for musicians and vocalists.
